Of Humans and Other Creatures

I write for everyone and anyone with half a brain who has grumped around asking themselves three questions:
Why? Why? And why me?
If you pop me between Douglas Adams and the Monty Python team in the bookcase I will be very happy.

A selection of reviews . . .

‘'Totally absorbing and heart breaking. The sort of little book that gets made into a giant of a film!’  Maddy Darrall, TV Executive.

'Spirals of surreal fantasy that are absolutely original and full of vitality, energy and wisdom.'  Anne Merrick, Author.

‘If Lewis Carroll and Spike Milligan had had a child, she would have written this book . . .’ critical reader.

'What a delight to discover a fabular novel in the old-fashioned English tradition: quirky, full of a sense of folklore and individual in every respect. Added to which, and unlike many, it has lovely line illustrations which are witty and imaginative - little vignettes which accentuate the idiosyncrasy.'

'Just adored this book, written by a true free thinker. If you like to laugh, understand that sometimes its good to cry and believe that imagination is the key to success then this is for you. Great story that meanders its way through a web of adventures with spectacular characters, disregarding the rules of normality and allowing anything to be possible. Buy it and enjoy immersing yourself in a world of wonder, it's the perfect antidote to the pace and greyness of the everyday.'  Alison B Watson, Graphic Designer.

'A beautifully quirky and unique reflection on life and how to navigate it, come good or bad. In a genre of its own - although reminiscent of magic realism. Well worth a read.'

A little background . . .

I popped this, my first book, into a competition on Amazon in 2017 to see whether people might like it - and mercifully they do.  Book II in the trilogy - Every Picture tells a Story - is well on the way. I don't want to give too much away here - especially for those of you yet to read Book I (could you get a move on please) - but I can tell you that the elf, the Most Marvellous Musical Major and a small field mouse discover that The Door to the Brave New World is closed; a pair of fearless ants break away from the Hourglass and Octavia, Keeper of the Law, loses his fluffles. Look out . . .

Am now doing the rounds trying to find an agent or publisher who 'gets it', to use the vernacular.
